Huntington Memorial Hospital is participating in a city-wide lowering of flags to half-staff in memory of Pasadena resident Scott Studenmund, who was tragically killed on Monday while serving in Afghanistan. Scott, 24, is survived by his mother, longtime hospital board member and trustee Jaynie Studenmund, his father Woody, his sister Connell and a half brother. After graduating from Flintridge Preparatory School in 2008, Scott played football for Pitzer College for a year before joining the military, where he served in the Army’s Special Forces unit, known as the Green Berets. Our flag will remain at half-mast until after his memorial service next weekend. Our thoughts go out to all those who knew Scott and our gratitude to all members of the community who have served in our military.
