Community Outreach
Health Counseling
The "Nurses in Community Outreach" effort strives to be the
vehicle by which members of our community can use Huntington
Hospital's resources to achieve their optimal health potential.
Our
Registered Nurses work in partnership with other community agencies to
determine the community's needs and what can be done to help meet
those needs. As part of this effort, we provide health counseling and
screenings for diabetes and hypertension at a variety of community sites
regularly throughout the month.
Throughout the year, we conduct
or participate in health fairs, providing health education for
prevention and maintaining a healthful lifestyle. We also coordinate
disease specific screenings, such as breast, colon cancer, and prostate
cancer screening events each year. We coordinate and provide flu
vaccines seasonally.
Our desire is to empower all members of our community to enjoy the healthiest lifestyle possible.
