Community Outreach Caring for our Community for over 100 years

Our Programs

RN Health Counseling
The goal of the community outreach registered nurse is to successfully connect families and individuals to Huntington Hospital’s programs and existing community resources to achieve their optimal health potential.

Our registered nurses work in partnership with other community agencies to determine the community’s needs and what can be done to help meet those needs.  As part of this effort, we provide health counseling and screenings for diabetes and hypertension at a variety of community sites regularly throughout the month.

Throughout the year, we conduct or participate in health fairs, providing health education for prevention and maintaining a healthful lifestyle.  Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions workshops are offered at Huntington Hospital and community sites.  Community outreach registered nurses coordinate disease specific screenings, such as breast cancer, colon cancer, and prostate cancer screening events each year.  Free seasonal flu vaccinations are provided each fall.

The desire of each community outreach registered nurse is to empower all members of our community to enjoy the healthiest lifestyle possible.
