Care Coordination and Support
The Huntington Hospital Cancer Center is committed to involving each patient to the fullest extent possible in making decisions regarding their own care. This is achieved through a dedicated team of registered nurse navigators who provide care coordination and support to patients and their families during each phase of their cancer treatment, and beyond.

The nurse navigators can also be available to help answer the many questions that arise during the course of cancer care. In addition, they can help link patients with vital support services and will work with the patient’s insurance company to ensure that appropriate home-health and/or rehabilitation services are provided.

Our Commitment to Quality
The cancer center sponsors prospective tumor boards for general oncology (including colorectal and gastrointestinal cancers), breast, genitourinary, gynecologic, thoracic and neurological cancers, where all cases are reviewed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. During this process, patient history and physical findings, pathologic and imaging studies are reviewed, and consensus recommendations are made for each patient presented, according to the most up-to-date evidence-based guidelines from the national Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).

In addition, our comprehensive cancer data registry center staff ensures tumor data is collected, maintained and reported effectively.
