Huntington Hospital was the first hospital in the San Gabriel Valley to achieve Magnet designation, recognizing the very best in nursing care and professionalism in nursing practice. Magnet is the highest honor a U.S. hospital can receive for its nursing program, and only six percent of the nation’s hospitals have earned this prestigious designation.

Huntington Memorial Hospital has been ranked among the top hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital received the national ranking in the orthopedics and urology specialties, and is considered the 18th best hospital in the nation for orthopedics. Huntington Hospital was also named the number four hospital in Los Angeles and ranked as the eighth “Best Hospital” in California.

Huntington Hospital has received full hospital-wide accreditation from The Joint Commission, the nation’s standards setting and accrediting body in healthcare. In addition, we have been recognized by The Joint Commission for excellence in specific care programs, as follows:
- Gold Seal of Approval for total knee and hip replacement
program.
- Gold Seal of Approval for stroke care.
- Designated as a Primary Stroke Center, one of the first hospitals in L.A. County to earn this designation.

Huntington Hospital has been included on Target: Stroke Honor Roll, a national quality initiative of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, and also received the American Stroke Association’s Get With the Guidelines –Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award in recognition of our high-quality, best-practice stroke care.

The Lab Accreditation Board of ABRET granted us an accreditation for our Neurophysiology Intraoperative Monitoring Laboratories which demonstrated quality management of the program and adherence to established standards.

The Department of Health and Human Services Outstanding Leadership Award for the elimination of ventilator-associated pneumonia was awarded to Huntington Hospital for its successful and sustained efforts to prevent healthcare-associated infections, specifically infections in critical care settings.

The Cheers Award - bestowed by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) - honors organizations that have set a "superlative standard of excellence"
in the prevention of medication errors.
