Granted Magnet® recognition by the American nurses credentialing center

Huntington Hospital was the first hospital in the San Gabriel Valley to achieve Magnet designation, recognizing the very best in nursing care and professionalism in nursing practice. Magnet is the highest honor a U.S. hospital can receive for its nursing program, and only six percent of the nation’s hospitals have earned this prestigious designation.

Huntington Hospital ranked among the top ten hospitals in greater Los Angeles by U.S. News & World Report

Huntington Hospital ranked as a U.S. News and World Report Top Hospital (Metro) in ten specialties, including orthopedics, neurology/neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, geriatric services, diabetes/endocrinology, pulmonology, GYN, and nephrology.

We have received full accreditation from The Joint Commission, the nation’s standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare.

Huntington Hospital has received full hospital-wide accreditation from The Joint Commission, the nation’s standards setting and accrediting body in healthcare. In addition, we have been recognized by The Joint Commission for excellence in specific care programs, as follows:

Gold Seal of Approval for total knee and hip replacement program.
Gold Seal of Approval for stroke care.
Designated as a Primary Stroke Center, one of the first hospitals in L.A. County to earn this designation.

Target: Stroke Honor Roll, a national quality initiative of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

Huntington Hospital has been included on Target: Stroke Honor Roll, a national quality initiative of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, and also received the American Stroke Association’s Get With the Guidelines –Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award in recognition of our high-quality, best-practice stroke care.

The Lab Accreditation Board of ABRET granted us an accreditation for our Neurophysiology Intraoperative Monitoring Laboratories which demonstrated quality management of the program and adherence to established standards.

Institutes of Quality (IoQ) Orthopedic Care facilities publicly recognized, high-quality, high-value health care facilities that are designated based on measures of clinical performance, access and efficiency for orthopedic care.

The Cheers Award - bestowed by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) - honors organizations that have set a "superlative standard of excellence" in the prevention of medication errors.

Huntington Hospital was recognized as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Blue Distinction Centers for Bariatric Surgery® have demonstrated their commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for bariatric patients. Huntington Hospital was named a Blue Distinction Center for Bariatric Surgery. The program provides a full range of bariatric surgery care services, including inpatient care, post-operative care, outpatient follow-up care and continuing patient education. Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer.

Huntington Hospital's Cancer Center received accreditation with commendation from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer.

Accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. The Huntington-Hill Breast Center received accreditation by the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers – one of only three hospitals in Los Angeles County to have achieved this honor.

Designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College or Radiology.

American College of Radiology Commission on Quality dual accreditations for CT and MRI

The American College of Radiology Commission on Quality and Safety has accredited Huntington Hospital’s Toshiba Aquilion One 320 for computed tomography and Toshiba 2005 Vantage for magnetic resonance imaging services.

Verified as a Level II trauma center the American College of Surgeons (ACS).

The Huntington Hospital Trauma Center has been verified as a Level II trauma center by the Verification Review Committee (VRC), an ad hoc committee of the Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This achievement recognizes the trauma center's dedication to providing lifesaving care for injured patients.

Designated as a level-III neonatal intensive care unit by California Children’s Services.

The hospital’s Graduate Medical Education Program received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, for the maximum (five-year) period.

HHS Outstanding Leadership Award for the elimination of ventilator-associated pneumonia

The Department of Health and Human Services Outstanding Leadership Award for the elimination of ventilator-associated pneumonia was awarded to Huntington Hospital for its successful and sustained efforts to prevent healthcare-associated infections, specifically infections in critical care settings.
