Workforce Development: Advanced Cardiac Assessment

This class is for RNs working in telemetry, critical care units and specialty areas who would like a refresher course in the care of the cardiac patient. Course content: components of a cardiac assessment, review of preload, after load, contractility, use of case scenarios to review vasoactive drips, anticipated effects on preload, after load, contractility, and heart rate.

Students enrolling in this course, should have previous knowledge of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, be able to calculate a constant and rate for a given drug order and recognize core measures for acute MI and heart failure.

8 CE hours will be awarded upon course completion.
